Alabamboo is a growing initiative to strengthen the economic and social fabric of the American South by introducing bamboo as a viable agricultural crop for the region.
Spearheaded by Marsha Folsom and Black Belt Bamboost, the effort is multi-faceted and highly collaborative, incorporating a number of businesses and organizations in Alabama and beyond. Collaborators include Bamboo Bike Studio, Project M, and BooShoot Gardens.
In an effort to support the initiative, I built a bamboo bicycle in Alabama and then rode it to California.
More here. Collaboration with Rose Lavelle, J Vernal and Marc O'Brien.
