Built with Indexhibit
For six weeks in the Spring of 2010, I had a stint as an Art Director at the Portland Mercury. I worked on two special issues (the Southeast Neighborhood Guide and the Bike Issue) as well as special projects here and there.
One day Scrappers asked me if I wanted to help him make a cake.
So we made a giant cardboard cake.
Then he frosted it with plaster. Then we iced it with rope. Then we found some creepy little child mannequins in the Merc office and had a big cake party.
So, what happened to the cake?
They made an ad out of it.
Then an internet ad.
Then a distribution box thing.
Then they blew it up.
Then they made a video.
Then they made a cover.
I really enjoyed this job.
