In collaboration with Megan Deal, Jason Dilworth and Jolanda Todt, I took a three-day walk through central Germany in September 2010.
Later named WE WERE WALKING WHEN WE MADE THIS, the project was an exercise in process and an experiment in the mobility of creative action.
It was an action in the face of circular conversation.
It was an exploration of the value of process in a production-oriented world.
It was the result of spontaneity.
It was the practice of contemplative thought and intimate conversation.
It led to several essential understandings.
It was an active protest against an impatient, goal-oriented world.
